Geforce RTX 5050 |
After both the Nvidia Geforce RTX 5060 and the Geforce RTX 5050 with 8 GiByte have so far failed to establish themselves as best-sellers, rumors are now circulating about a Geforce RTX 5050 Ti with 16 GiByte.
Is Nvidia planning a new entry-level graphics card with 16 GB of graphics memory? After the Geforce RTX 5060 and the Geforce RTX 5050 with 8 GiByte have been able to gain the reputation of a bestseller so far, rumors are now circulating about a Geforce RTX 5050 Ti with 16 GiByte. The official website of Zotac now provides the relevant information.
Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 5050 Ti
Taiwanese manufacturer had a corresponding graphic on its website online for a short time, which spoke of a Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 5050 Ti. This would have to be based on an even more cropped version of the GB206 graphics processor, since the Geforce RTX 5050 is already based on the GB207 in full development. If the memory is set to GDDR6 again, 16 gibytes would be the logical consequence, while 12 gibytes would also be feasible with GDDR7. The corresponding memory modules ("ICs") are available for this.
- Geforce RTX 5060 with GB206 and 3,840 CUDA cores
- Geforce RTX 5050 Ti with GB206 and 3,072 CUDA cores*
- Geforce RTX 5050 with 207 GB and 2,560 CUDA cores
With 24 streaming multiprocessors ("SMs") or 3,072 FP32 ALUs and a memory expansion of 12 to 16 Gibytes, a possible Geforce RTX 5050 Ti could be a much more interesting entry-level model than the Geforce RTX 5050 is.
Whether the information on the official website of Zotac was really the accidental preview of a new entry-level graphics card or a mistake, can not be said with certainty at the moment.
