MSI hasn't produced CPU air coolers for ten years. Now the company is launching the 240-watt MAG Core Frozr AA13 CPU cooler.
MSI has not produced CPU coolers for ten years. As a result, the prices went through the roof to such an extent that a 16-year-old air cooler was offered on an American Amazon Marketplace for $ 5,340 - the original price of the MSI Core Frozr L was only around $ 50 at that time.
The compatibility of the cooler is limited to Intel CPUs of the 6th to 9th generation or AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs, but this would make the Frozr L also suitable for the recently released AMD Ryzen 5500X3D.
MSI presents the new CPU air cooler MAG Core Frozr AA13
After a long interruption in the field of air cooling for CPUs, MSI has now almost secretly introduced a new processor air cooler with the MAG Core Frozr AA13. The product is intended to be aimed at a wide range of gamers and enthusiasts.
The cooler is designed as a compact single-tower cooler and measures 152 x 121 x 94.5 mm. This is to ensure wide compatibility with most mid-tower housings. Four six-millimeter copper heat conductors sit directly on the CPU and conduct the heat directly from it to a fin cooler with 50 cooling fins.
MAG Core Frozr AA13 Features
According to internal tests by MSI, the MAG Core Frozr AA13 is designed with an Intel Core i9-14900K for a heat dissipation power (TDP) of up to 240 watts, which makes it suitable for the modern high-performance processors from Intel (LGA1700 and LGA1851) and AMD (socket AM4 and AM5).
The MAG Core Frozr AA13 should contain an ARGB illumination and cause a maximum of 34.1 dBA noise. MSI reports a life expectancy of at least 40,000 hours at 40 °C. All specifications can be viewed at MSI. The CPU air cooler should be available in black and white. A price recommendation is not yet known, also a release date in Germany is still pending.
