Geforce RTX 5070 (Ti) Super Vs 5080 Super |
New leaks about the Geforce RTX 50 Super series provide exciting insights: In addition to more memory and slightly increased performance, the cards are expected to be released in 2025 – as early as autumn.
GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 3x Super already this year?
Specifically, we are talking about the Geforce RTX 5080 Super and the RTX 5070 Super and RTX 5070 Ti Super models - three of the most important cards in the Nvidia range for gamers. Two of them have 16 GiB of memory without a super version.
According to the leak, the release window is in the fourth quarter of 2025. If you want to be more specific, you should consider the period from the end of October to mid-November.
According to MLID, what many had already suspected is happening: the cards get the so-called "crooked" memory thanks to the production of 24 Gb chips at Hynix and can be reamed as a result. For the Geforce RTX 5070 Super it would be 18 GiB GDDR7 and for the Geforce RTX 5070 Ti Super and RTX 5080 Super it would be 24 GiB GDDR7. The standard RTX-5070 would thus come just over the 16 GiB limit and the other two models would have the leeway that one usually only has with the very expensive RTX 5090. She then also remains at a respectful distance with her 32 GiB memory.
Geforce RTX 5070 (Ti) Super & 5080 Super Specs and Price
The leak also states that the RTX 5070 Ti and the RTX 5080 (both with 16 GiB) will be discontinued in favor of the Super models. However, the RTX 5070 with 12 GiB should remain in place.
In view of this, it is perhaps not surprising that the FP32-ALUs should not change anything for two models. The RTX 5080 still has 10,752 in the room; the RTX 5070 Ti has 8,960 FP32 ALUs. Only the RTX 5070 Super has increased: from 6,144 to 6,400 FP32 ALUs. It should therefore also be the model that will be continued in both variants.
type | RTX 5080 Super | RTX 5080 | RTX 5070 Ti Super | RTX 5070 Ti | RTX 5070 Super | RTX 5070 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
FP32 ALUs | 10,752 | 10,752 | 8,960 | 8,960 | 6,400 | 6,144 |
memory | 24 GB | 16 GB | 24 GB | 16 GB | 18 GB | 12 GB |
Performance | 415 W | 360 W | 350 W | 300 W | 275 W | 250 W |
Price (USD MRSP) | 999-1,199 | 999 | 749-799 | 749 | 549-599 | 549 |
The additional memory is expected to slightly increase the TDPs. There's no information on clock speeds—Nvidia probably still has room to adjust these. What's clear, however, is that prices are expected to be higher across the board. An MSRP increase of between $50 and $200 is expected.
