Battlefield 6 is getting its own battle royale spin-off today. The project is titled "Battlefield RedSec" and comes as quite a surprise.

According to several matching leaks, the project was named Battlefield: Redsec and was supposed to be published without any advance notice - a so-called shadowdrop.

These speculations have now been confirmed and so EA will release the game client for Battlefield: Redsec at 16 o'clock today. A matching trailer on Youtube will be released at 16 o'clock. The accompanying patch 1.1.1.0 has already been released, which heralds the Season 1 in Battlefield 6 from 16 o'clock. Battlefield: RedSec does not require Battlefield 6.

The free battlefield takes place in the backyards and on the beaches of California - in a destructible environment called Fort Lyndon. Fort Lyndon is the largest battlefield map to date. Gauntlet is also included in RedSec. In the new elimination mode, eight teams of four players each compete against each other in a series of dynamic, turn-based missions in a tournament format. Each round provides a 5-minute time window to complete mission objectives. With Battlefield Portal you can create your own events. As an example, EA mentions a melee battle with only sledgehammers or a headshot tournament.
