Microsoft's Xbox Next is intended to be less of a classic gaming console and more of a full-fledged Windows PC, which, in addition to the Xbox and Windows ecosystem, will also offer access to all gaming platforms such as Steam.
Microsoft's next Xbox will be less a classic game console and more a full-fledged mini-PC with Windows, which, in addition to the in-house Xbox and Windows ecosystem, will also offer access to all game platforms such as Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store. This is what Moore's Law Is Dead would like to have learned, which now once again confirms the already known statements by the respected industry expert Jez Corden.
The upcoming Xbox, which the insider does not see on the market until 2027, will, in his opinion, be a "mini-PC with Windows in a game console case", i.e. a chassis that can be "nicely placed under a TV" and can be expanded with "all kinds of peripherals". As on a Steam deck with SteamOS, there should be a "switchable mode", which can optionally provide the "gaming mode" or the "full-fledged operating system".

- 9 to 11 Zen-6 processor cores

Back in February, Jez Corden said that a still unnamed game console from Microsoft had passed the design stage and was fully approved and calculated up to the supply chain. Game consoles usually have a multi-year lead in development and usually use older hardware.
Xbox Next: The next game console is probably on the way
The basis for the "Xbox Next" should be the Magnus SoC from AMD, which should combine the new architectures Zen 6 and RDNA 5 aka UDNA. The concept of implementing the game console as a gaming PC with Windows and powerful hardware should therefore also drive up the price: according to the rumor mill, 800 to 1,500 US dollars should be in the room at the start in 2027.
All rumors about a potential "Xbox Next" and its implementation as a full-fledged mini-PC with Windows should currently still be viewed with a healthy degree of skepticism. Microsoft itself has not yet said a word in this direction. In addition to a new Xbox, the potential Playstation 6, which could rely on Zen 6 and UDNA, should not launch until 2027.
