New information suggests that the GeForce RTX 6090 and similar cards will not be released before 2027, At Nvidia GTC 2025, the company already revealed initial details about Rubin, the successor to the Blackwell architecture.

Already at the Nvidia GTC ("GPU Technology Conference") 2025 in March of this year, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang revealed the first details about the successors of the current Blackwell GPU architecture and gave a first outlook on Rubin, Rubin Ultra and Feynman. While Blackwell Ultra is just being rolled out to partners and major customers, the Rubin CPX could also be used as a basis for upcoming Geforce graphics cards. According to information from RedGamingTech, these will be presented and published no earlier than 2027.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 6090 Release date with Price

According to this, the announcement of the Geforce RTX 60 Series with a potential Geforce RTX 6090 at the top is currently scheduled for CES 2027 at the earliest, while the release could then take place in the first quarter of 2027. On the other hand, there are rumors about an alleged postponement of the Geforce RTX 5000 Super, which, accordingly, should appear only in the third quarter of 2026.

According to several sources, the Geforce RTX 5080 Super, Geforce RTX 5070 Ti Super and Geforce RTX 5070 Super were originally intended for a release by May 2026 at the latest, but the historical memory crisis could have put a stop to this now. However, Nvidia itself has not commented on this.

Geforce RTX 6090: How fast will Nvidia's next-gen GPU go?

So far, however, all these assumptions are still pure speculation and it has not yet been confirmed that Nvidia will rely on Rubin CPX for its next-generation consumer graphics cards. According to the current state of affairs, AMD's Next-Gen, which should correspondingly rely on RDNA 5 alias UDNA, will be presented in the second half of 2026, which narrows the time window for Nvidia's Next-Gen.

The US manufacturer has summarized all official information about Rubin CPX and the Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL144 CPX server rack based on it in an official press release and on its technical blog. However, whether we see the basis for upcoming Geforce graphics cards here is speculative.
