Ryzen 7 9700X : Asrock motherboard allegedly destroys three AMD CPUs

An Asrock B850 series motherboard is said to have destroyed three Ryzen 7 9700X processors within six months. While the first two processors are considered a loss, the third CPU, along with the motherboard, is now with support.

User reports have been appearing from time to time throughout the entire calendar year, according to which a Ryzen CPU of the current generation has given up the ghost. Most of these incidents have one thing in common: the processors were operated on a motherboard from the manufacturer Asrock.

Factory settings used - user waiting for support

The three affected processors are each the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X, which was operated on an Asrock B850 Pro Rs. Two of the CPUs were purchased via the Chinese and not always perfect platform Alibaba; the third copy, on the other hand, comes from an unspecified official sales partner in South Korea. The two "Alibaba CPUs" had already disassembled it in February, while the third CPU stopped operating in August.

According to his own information, the user always used the factory settings and accordingly neither activated XMP nor made any overclocking. Also, the BIOS firmware had been kept constantly up to date.

Nevertheless, the defects occurred, of which the first two incidents must be written off as a loss: since the user bought them from Alibaba, there was also no guarantee. According to the report, Asrock itself also took a closer look at the motherboard after the incidents around the Alibaba CPUs, but did not find any error and sent it back to the customer. Now the user chooses the way via the South Korean support, where both CPU defect number three and the motherboard itself are now located - the output is still unknown.
