Ryzen AI 400: AMD's chipset driver reveals new Zen 5 APUs
AMD

The AMD Ryzen AI 400 series ("Gorgon Point"), consisting of seven refreshed APUs of the Ryzen AI 300 series ("Strix Point"), is expected to be unveiled at CES 2026 in January of next year. AMD's new chipset driver has now revealed these processors.

Even before Ryzen AI 500 ("Medusa Point") takes over with Zen 6 ("Morpheus"), AMD will give its current mobile processors of the Ryzen AI 300 series ("Strix Point") a minimal refresh in the form of the Ryzen AI 400 ("Gorgon Point"), which will be coming to notebooks as a Strix Point Refresh in the foreseeable future. The efficient Zen-5 mobile APUs are expected at CES in January 2026.

While AMD has not yet officially commented on the new Ryzen AI 400 ("Gorgon Point"), the new APUs have now been revealed by AMD's official chipset driver, the so-called AMD Ryzen Chipset Driver, in version 7.10.02.711. This was found out by @BuildLabEx, who was able to locate the corresponding PMF drivers, which are clearly addressed to Ryzen AI 400. VideoCardz was also able to identify the corresponding driver packages.

While a total of seven new models are to be presented at CES 2026, a release is expected in the first quarter of next year, which will use Zen 5 ("Nirvana"), Zen 5c ("Prometheus") and RDNA 3.5 ("GFX115X") as usual. Everything continues as usual. The following seven SKUs have since been leaked and confirmed from multiple sources.

The new top model, the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 475, should also have the strongest NPU based on XDNA 2 to date and be able to provide up to 60 TOPS of AI computing power. More details will follow at CES in January 2026.

Refresh should make OEMs happy

The Ryzen AI 400 ("Gorgon Point") is primarily a refresh of the Ryzen AI 300 ("Strix Point"), which is probably primarily intended to enable retailers to advertise with "new" models and larger numbers.
