Swiss company Arctic GmbH has introduced a new thermal paste, the Arctic MX-7, designed for "ultimate cooling performance" and "for the highest demands." In the manufacturer's tests, it significantly outperforms its predecessor.
Arctic GmbH, formerly known as Arctic Cooling, which is based in Braunschweig, has introduced the Arctic MX-7, a new thermal compound that is designed for "ultimate cooling performance" and "for the highest demands". In the manufacturer's tests, the predecessor, the Arctic MX-6, is clearly beaten. On a powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 285K with ~ 284 watts, the "MX-7" achieves a 2.3 °C lower temperature than the "MX-6", while the "MX-4" can be "undercut" by 4.1 °C. According to the Swiss cooling experts, the optimized formulation should have further reduced the thermal conductivity resistance.

Due to its comparatively viscous, performance-optimized consistency, the Arctic MX-7 cannot be distributed with a spatula, but is distributed "evenly and without air inclusions" by the contact pressure of the cooler, according to the manufacturer. The "MX-7" is thus classified between the "MX-6" and the old "MX-4".

The new Arctic MX-7 is designed to ensure long-lasting stability for "constant performance without drying out" due to its strong internal bonding, high cohesion, and to prevent a "pump-out effect" as well as cracks or leakage even during repeated heat cycles with high thermal stress.
Arctic MX-7 Price
Depending on the package size, the new Arctic MX-7 is now available at prices starting at 6.49 euros for 2 grams, 6.99 euros for 4 grams and 8.49 euros for 8 grams, while the price recommendations are significantly higher and can be found in the manufacturer's in-house online shop.
